Why “5 Bridges Health & Fitness”?

At our core, we are a small business with deep roots in central Pennsylvania.  Our company has been a part of the Harrisburg area community since 2010 and our intention is to stay here.  This is home.

As we thought about a name that would reflect what we do and where we are located, we went on a journey thinking about what makes this area special.  We have weathered floods, snowstorms, Three Mile Island and the global COVID pandemic – our fair share of challenges.  We looked at countless pictures that told the story of these events and one thing continued to come up – the five bridges that crossed the Susquehanna River in the Harrisburg area.  In many respects they are iconic and part of the rich history that connects the east and west shores.  Hence “5 Bridges” – it just felt right.

We are committed to the health & fitness lifestyle and business so 5 Bridges Health & Fitness was a natural for us.  We see our role as one that reaches beyond just health and fitness into one that is an active and responsible part of the small business community.  Our staff are your friends and neighbors, and they are committed to creating a member experience that is second to none.

As we reflected more on our brand, we wanted to make a greater connection between what we did and what it said.  So, we developed what we like to refer to as the 5 Bridges to a healthy lifestyle:

  • Education
  • Recovery
  • Community

These are now the foundation of all of programs and services and our mission is around delivering them in a way that only a locally owned small business can do.
